Dawn began studying yoga in 2004 while studying music performance at Boston Conservatory. After receiving a BM in Music Performance and an MS in Music Education, Dawn went on to receive her 200hr yoga certification at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. In 2013 Dawn traveled to India to obtain her 500hr certification in Advanced Vinyasa Yoga. Always eager to learn more, she also obtained Certifications in Kids Yoga, SUP Yoga and 75 hours advanced training from Laughing Lotus. In 2015, Dawn acquired a Certificate in Positive Psychology which she uses to bring smiles and tips on happiness in each of her classes. Dawn’s classes are centered around challenging the body and mind. While physically challenging, she emphasizes the importance of finding the balance between honoring the body and finding new limits every practice. Her classes will always bring you something you can take off your mat and into your life to live with more happiness and peace. With over 10 years of teaching experience, she will be sure to bring something new to you each class as you travel through the journey of yoga!
Dawn opened Peaceful Warrior Yoga Center in 2011 in Rocky Point, NY and was immediately embraced by the community. As the first studio in the area, Dawn introduced the community to Vinyasa Yoga. In 2018 Dawn expanded Peaceful Warrior into a second studio in Sayville, NY. She has been guiding Teacher Trainings since 2010 and began guiding Peaceful Warrior Teacher Trainings in 2011. Since then, she has personally guided over 60 Yoga Teachers who continue to inspire those around them. Her past teachers are now teaching everywhere from local studios to Germany. She has continued to be an innovator in Intelligent Sequencing and Differential Instruction. Her certificate in Positive Psychology gives her an additional gateway in guiding students to be Happier on and off their mats.
